Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. “Diet” is a huge factor in losing those extra pounds, so put down the processed food and reach for raw fruits and veggies.

Wednesday Motivation – aka Get Off Your Butt & Move!

Wednesday Motivation - Get Off Your Butt and Move

You’ve had a long day at work. Your legs are sore from yesterday’s workout. It’s raining outside. It’s cold outside. It’s hot outside. The drive is too far. You don’t have time. Your alarm didn’t go off.

These are excuses made by ordinary people. You are not ordinary. You are not a quitter. You are not the person you may have been in the past. You are an unyielding competitor. You will succeed. You will undeniably rise above it.

No excuses.

Sweat like a pig to look like a fox. Amen to that!

Have to put in the hard work in order to see the results. Keep pushing yourself each day!

The only way to see results is to stay consistent.

I try not to go longer than two days without a run or a workout.

Why I Run

Why I Run

I’ve been a runner for years and it’s like meditation for me. It helps to clear my head and I feel great afterwards. It helps me to sleep better and makes my legs strong and shapely.

A runner forever…

Review: Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator in Apple Berry

I’ve heard such great things about the Vega Sport supplements that I gave the Recovery Accelerator a try yesterday after my work out and here’s my review.

Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator

Product:

  • Recovery Accelerator in Apple Berry
  • 100% Vegan
  • Completely plant based, free of dairy, soy, gluten
  • The ingredients are minimally processed, non-GMO and organic
  • Replenishes energy and electrolytes
  • Reduce inflammation, muscle and joint pain
  • Reduce recovery time between trainings
  • This product is recommended by Vega Sport for accelerated recovery after moderate to intense workouts, i.e., greater than 1 hour of exercise, running 3+ miles, marathons, Ironman, long-distance bike ride or hike
  • Best if taken immediately or within 20 minutes after your workout

I took the Recovery Accelerator after a 2 hour workout (4 mile run and resistance training) within 10 minutes. I mixed the packet in 1.5 cups of water, which dissolved very quickly and smelled delicious, and drank it immediately.

Out of all the powdery supplements I’ve had, this is by far the best tasting. It has a slight milky texture and taste to it but you can definitely taste the berry flavor and makes it easy to drink. It’s also not chalky like some protein powders.

A side note – I did feel a bit bloated after a couple of hours but not sure if it was from the supplement or my dinner. So I’m going to try it again. Since this is not a meal replacement supplement, I had a meal within 2 hours of drinking the Recovery Accelerator.

I typically feel a bit sore after my workouts but not a bit of soreness today…which I’m going to credit the Recovery Accelerator.

The Vega Sport products are on the pricier side. For a 19oz bottle of the Recovery Accelerator, it can range from $32 – $40 and can be found at Whole Foods and vitamin stores (you can also find them online). Also, if you just want to try it out they sell them in individual packets at $3/per packet.

There aren’t too many vegan protein powders or recovery supplements out there and the Vega Sport brand is supposed to be one of the best. It was created by Bredan Brazier who is a vegan, professional Ironman triathlete.

Keep it Consistent

Keep it Consistent

The key to seeing results from working out and eating right is consistency.

Just like one “bad” meal isn’t going to make you fat…one “good” meal will not make you skinny.
